Remider

Hello lovelies,

I have truly missed blogging because as many of you may know this is what I love to do. I enjoy showcasing the art of a beautiful garment (whether I'm blogging about it or just wearing it on a daily basis).

I will ask you one thing. How do you feel when you wear your favorite outfit -- may it be casual or glam?

I feel like a walking art piece. Although I bought this piece, it is not mine. Really think about that. Embody the notion that somebody designed what you are wearing at this moment. It is the beautiful creation of an artist. And I am darn glad to be reppin' who they are and what the stand for. Fashion is very magical in the way that it is able to transform you into whatever you feel like being that day (thank you to all the designers who inspire me to one day do the same). I call this Empowerment and I sure love it.

Okay that was enough "motivation talk" but I sometimes feel that I have to remind myself why I am truly here doing what I love. I keep myself going, because I know I can make it. I just want to invite you along with me through this journey that may or may not have the best ending. But don't worry; I am sure going to give it a try.

Now let us fashion talk. Do you own a romper/jumpsuit? Go get one if you don't. These are literally lifesavers since there is no need to look for an outfit because it is already made!
All you have to do is:

1  Pull a neutral color off of the print (if you are wearing a printed romper). In my case: BLACK
2  Accessorize using that color.
3  And you are done.

Boss

I'm soooooo fancy.....
Do you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to dress to impress, but you cannot find that perfect outfit that will give you the confidence and comfort that you need?
My rule of thumb is to go for the classics: some neutral trousers, a cute blouse and some pointed-toe heels. Once you have this down you can mix and match and add some colorful prints.

One of my goals in life is to create business/interview wear that is not basic. How do you style business attire?

Business wear is very easy to style, but hard to find. I am on the curvier side of life and I have realized that this is where you SHOULD invest in classic pieces. I understand that at the moment a $100 pair of trouser will carve a hole in your wallet, but they will literally become your go to piece. You can wear the trousers with a blouse, with a full suit (blazer) or with a sequin top for a night out.

If you are on the shorter side, the goal for any outfit should be to elongate your figure. This is where fit and the shoes come in. If you are wearing something that is not fitted properly you will be able to tell. Business clothes isn't like your normal style; you cannot wear something loose fitting and call it grunge or bohemian. There is not a lot of room for experimentation (which I find annoying). The slight heel and the pointed toe will give you the illusion of a taller figure.

My #1 piece of advice is to feel comfortable in what you are wearing. Feeling comfortable translates into confidence and that is never a bad thing. Always feel good in what you are wearing, express personal style no matter what is trending and be YOU!

Gingham style

Hi Friends!!!!

Do y'all ever want to pull off a "sporty" look,  but then realize that you do not have any gym in you?!! Thats me. I love and envy how people can pull off such an effortless look. Here is how you can too! Well at least you can give it a try.

Its been almost 2 weeks and I feel that I am not following a blogging schedule. I am still not sure which day out of the week that I should choose. Any help? Which days are better for you? Comment below.

Yes, this is my attempt at the "sporty" look. I paired this wonderful shirt with a plaid/gingham printed top. I tried to tough up the look by adding a metallic chain and some worn-in Converse. Did I succeed? (Once my friend commented that my style was girly and I was almost offended for some strange reason, but even though I feel tough and edgey I understand how people can interpret this.) Now I realize that it is fairy girly, which is not what I was going for. This skirt can vary depending in your interpretation. A school girl? A tennis player? I guess cheerleaders and tennis players count as athletes right? Of course they do.

Lately I have been thrifting as much as possible. Like most conscience shopoholics, I carefully invest in my wardrobe. There are some pieces like this awesome skirt that can easily be forgotten after a just a season. In these cases, I thrift for the items that might not make it after a couple of years. I mean a $3 skirt never hurt anybody!!

Technically this whole outfit is thrifted, down to the cute back pack (except the Converse and accessories). I spent about $7. You can't beat that!

Outfit attitude:
"It is summer break, but why I'm dressed for elementary school? Yes, I'm and adult and no I don't want to grow up!"

Denim Days: Collab with ZaiFashion

Hey, Hey!
Yes I know its been a while. So many things have happened in the 2 months that I have not posted (But please do not worry. I will post another blog to keep us all up to date).

Okay so this week I had the honor of collaborating with Zaira from ZaiFashion. If you guys don't know who she is please go check her out (I will leave all the links below). I love the way that she recreates celebrity's outfits for much less. For this collaboration we decided to choose the classic DENIM JACKET.

Everyone seems to own one or even several of these jackets in different washes. Even though this is such a basic closet staple it is cool to see how we reflected our own styles through a simple jacket. Zaira styled an edgier outfit and incorporated her light wash denim jacket. I, on the other hand, put together a more feminine look and opted for a darker wash. I really love the way in which Zaira played with texture and used dark earth tones to create a more laid back look. I based my look off of the gorgeous chiffon print on my midi skirt. There always seems to be something more elegant about this certain length, so I styled appropriately.

Classic

Hello FRIENDS,
So long, no see!! So this week Im introducing the basics...well my basics.

My grand goal in life is to successfully mix prints. It always sounds like a great idea, but I can never leave my blacks and whites. I really don't own a lot of color, nonetheless prints. Most of the color that I own comes from my flannels, but even then they do not hold a range of patterns. Once again I gravitated towards the basic black and white just like the same repetitive story. My rides or die never seem to fail.(Tip of the day: Go get yourself as many shirt dresses that you can. they are so comfy and you can wear them with basically anything!)
I tried to mix prints, but in a sense I kind of cheated. Adding a print on a similar print might not have a drastic contrast, but it still provides dimension and interest to the outfit. You can't go wrong with stripes and flannels prints; they are so versatile. Stripes have also been seen in the runway this year. A variety of stripes in these classic prints and darker tones give off a different vibe.
This outfit radiates an attitude and I like it. It is more on the edgier side, but I have balanced this out with cute booties, laced socks, and a floppy hat. Together this outfit seems to speak for itself.

Outfit attitude: "I might have slept in this shirt, but you will never know".

Thank you for reading,
Esperanza:)

Hawaiian

Hello friends,

HOPEBOTTLE post Saturday!!! So this weekend while everyone is traveling to California's valley I am stuck in my apartment looking through everyone's photos. I am low key being a jelly fish.

With all this time to myself, I came across a wonderful idea over the past week; here it goes.
Does your dad wear Hawaiian shirts? There is a very cool way to make those embarrassing shirts look cool. I am done looking for kimonos that are my style. Most kimonos seem to be in some type of bohemian pattern which usually entails them to be colorful. This is not my personal style, but I found something that works just as well. An oversized Hawaiian shirt! I am wearing a thrifted silk Hawaiian shirt in a dark tropical floral print. I fell in love with it instantaneously.

The beauty of this piece is that it looks almost exactly like a kimono, but with a collar. I will never purchase an expensive kimono knowing that I can get one that probably no one will have. I can just imagine what cool patterns I will find next. And the best thing is that it is almost summer and the warm weather is here to stay. I can see myself throwing these Hawaiian shirts over many outfits or simply a bathing suit.

Outfit attitude:
"I might look put together, but what you didn't know is that this is a men's shirt. I know, I am a sneaky-sneak."

Like always thanks for reading,
Esperanza Botello
